Today you’ll need to take a look at your website and assess your call-to-action situation. When determining your call-to-action, you need to first understand exactly what you want a site visitor to accomplish. This could be anything from sign up for a newsletter, book a consultation, download an e-book, or make a purchase.

Whatever the goal, you want to make sure your pathway to reaching it is clearly stated and easy to navigate. For instance, if you want people to buy widgets on your site, you better have a big, beautiful call-to-action that takes them from the homepage to learn more about your widgets and make a purchase.

Your strategy should be to convert site visitors to “actors” in the simplest way possible. Think of your website as a journey. You want the route to your final destination to be enjoyable and without unnecessary u-turns. For some call to action inspiration, check out these examples.
