The Other Guys – Pinterest

Did you know that there are social networks other than Facebook and Twitter? I know this is a tough pill to swallow, but it’s true. As a matter of fact, there are a ton of really great sites out there that put like-minded people together. In the coming weeks, I’ll profile some of “The Other Guys.” Today, let’s chat about Pinterest.

Pinterst takes the idea of sites like Digg (social bookmarks), mixes it with the short, social nature of Twitter and throws in a little Flickr. The result – a really fun place for you to visually share all of the things that inspire you across the web, as well as see what things inspire your friends. For the creative professionals out there, it’s a great place to showcase your own creations and pay homage to the images that move you.

Are you a visual person? Then you'll love all the pretty things on Pinterest

Companies like The Vintage Table Co. are a great example of a business that can use niche a social site like Pinterest to engage potential clients. Wit such a visual product (vintage plate, glassware and flatware rentals), the company can not only attract but also inspire potential partners and clients. In this social age, genuine engagement with interested parties beats out advertising every time.

Does your company have an interest in Pinterest?

About Donna Queza

I'm an optimist grounded in realism. That's what I love about working on the web -- the possibilities to be creative and distinctive are endless, but there's always a need for those reality-driven, data-fueld folks who make our dreams into realities. I like to think I hover somewhere in the middle - creative, quantifiable internet marketing solutions.
